Joshua Wilkes

Co-Founder, Managing Partner

Joshua has 6+ years of Real Estate and Capital Markets experience. Prior to founding AREP, Joshua was a Vice President with Ernst & Young’s Real Estate Investment Banking Practice executing capital raises and mergers and acquisitions for real estate owner/operators across the US.

Prior to EY, Joshua was an Associate with Wells Fargo in the Consumer Retail and Healthcare Investment Banking Group where he executed corporate mergers and acquisitions and public capital markets transactions to corporate and REIT clients. Joshua executed over $10B in deal volume.

Prior to Wells Fargo, Joshua was an analyst with Lincoln Financial Group, a Fortune 250 financial services company.

Joshua earned a BA degree in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill and an MBA with a concentration in Corporate Finance and Real Estate from Kenan-Flagler Business School, UNC Chapel Hill.

Joshua is a licensed broker in North Carolina & South Carolina and resides in Charlotte with his wife and two kids. He serves on the Board of Directors for Anuvia Prevention & Recovery Center, as an UrbanPromise mentor and is a member at Hope Community Church.

Co-Founder, Managing Partner

Brian has 16+ years of Real Estate and Capital Markets experience. Prior to founding AREP, Brian was a Senior Vice President with Ernst & Young’s Real Estate Investment Banking Practice executing capital raises and mergers and acquisitions for real estate owner/operators across the US.

Prior to EY, Brian was an Associate with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Global Leveraged Finance Group where he originated syndicated loans and high-yield bonds, supporting acquisitions and recapitalizations, to large public and private corporate clients with a focus on the healthcare and industrial industries. Brian executed over $30B in deal volume.

Prior to the Leveraged Finance Group, Brian was a Vice President with Bank of America’s Commercial Real Estate Group. Brian spent the early part of his career with Vision Bank and SouthTrust Bank/Wells Fargo originating Corporate and Commercial Real Estate debt.

Brian earned a BS degree in Finance from Auburn University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance and Real Estate from Emory University.

Brian is a licensed broker in North Carolina. He is a participant in the city of Charlotte’s 2019 Community Planning Academy, an initiative led by the Charlotte Planning, Design and Development Department. Brian is also active in both the Auburn and Emory alumni clubs of Charlotte.

Fun fact: Brian loves golf and yoga, neither of which he is any good at (possibly two facts).
